Part #MM5301

3M™ 5301 5300 Splice Kit, 0 to 1000 VAC, 10 to 4 AWG Conductor, 3.4 in L Splice, EPDM Rubber
$33.87 / Each
Pack: 1/KIT
3M™ motor lead pigtail splicing kits 5300 series are designed for splicing motor lead cables to incoming feeder cables, including the accommodation of pigtail (stub) connections at 1000 V and less. The splice's main component, the slip-on lug cover, is made from EPDM rubber. Mastic strips are used for the moisture seal. These kits are designed to be used with copper compression, 1-hole lugs. After being crimped onto the cables, the lugs are bolted together in a pigtail configuration, then insulated and sealed with the 3M™ motor lead splicing kit. Each kit makes three splices and contains the necessary materials (except lugs) needed to make three splices. The lugs must be purchased separately. 3M™ Scotchlok™ copper compression lugs 30000 series or other UL listed copper lugs can be used.

Item Features

  • Fast and simple installation
  • No torches or heat source required
  • No special tools required to install splice
  • Thick walls to resist puncture and abrasion damage
  • High dielectric constant stress control included with 5/8 kV kits for shielded feeder cables for minimizing size and electrical stress
  • Easy re-entry, can be used on cables with a rated operating temperature of 90 deg c and an emergency overload rating of 130 deg C, to splice (insulate and seal) motor lead connections for 1000 vac and less cables sized 16 AWG to 500 kcmil
  • Suitable for use with 30000 series copper compression lugs or other UL listed copper lugs
  • 365 V/mil dielectric strength
  • 750% elongation
  • 1400 psi tensile strength
  • 1/2 in maximum bolt length
  • Polyethylene cable
  • 10 to 4 AWG feeder cable, 12 to 4 AWG motor lead conductor size
  • Designed to use with copper compression, one hole lugs
  • Slip-on lug cover is made of durable EPDM rubber
