Learning Objectives
The Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training (O. Reg. 297/13) requires employers to ensure that workers on construction projects successfully complete a working at heights training program if they use specified fall protection systems. These training programs are designed to meet this new standard will improve knowledge about fall hazards and safety practices.
Who Should Attend
The new training requirement is for workers on construction projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection:
- Travel restraint system
- Fall restricting system, Fall arrest system
- Work belt
- Safety belt

Record of Training
You’ll be provided with proof of training after successfully completing both the in-class and practical portions of the program – ministry inspectors will take enforcement action against any workers who are not compliant with the new program standards.
