Stored pressure fire extinguishers are some of the most common on the market. These extinguishers have extinguishing agents that are tested and approved for specific types of fires. They come in various sizes, with the expellant stored in the same chamber as the firefighting agent.

SENTRY Dry Chemical Extinguishers

SENTRY dry chemical extinguishers are designed for protection of light and ordinary hazards.  These compact and portable extinguishers are suited for industrial and commercial fire protection needs. These extinguishers effectively handle Class A, B, and C fires and have approvals from ANSI/UL, CAN/ULC, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Built to withstand temperatures from -65 °F to +120 °F (-54 °C to +49 °C), these extinguishers are proven to be reliable in these conditions, and come with these features:

  • Fits standard extinguisher cabinets
  • ULC listed for safety assurance
  • Rigorously tested via mass spectrometry
  • Colour-coded pressure gauge for easy monitoring

The most common types of dry chemical stored pressure extinguishers include:

ABC Dry Chemical

  • ABC dry chemical extinguishers are the most frequently used type. They have ratings for ordinary combustibles (Class A), flammable liquids (Class B) and electrical fires.

Purple K (PK) BC Dry Chemical

PK dry chemical extinguishers provide enhanced fire extinguishing capabilities for Class B fires and are also rated for Class C.  Purple K dry chemical has no Class A rating and should not be used for ordinary combustible type fires.
