1980s - 90s

1986 - The IndyCar Series selects Levitt-Safety as its fire and safety protection expert, and the Levitt-Safety IndyCar Fire Protection Team is created to provide fire protection services in Pit Lane.  Levitt-Safety is still providing this service today.

1988 - Working closely with Canada's Mining Industry Research Organization, Levitt-Safety identifies a need for a reliable and effective mining cap lamp in Canada. NL Technologies is formed and produces its first cap lamp.

1990 - A new state-of-the-art facility is built in Oakville, Ontario and becomes the new head office.

1994 - Victor’s son Bruce Levitt is named president, ushering in a new generation of spirit and dedication. 

1996 - Becomes the first organization in the safety distribution industry to be ISO 9001 registered, realizing the benefits of continually improving its work processes.

1997 – Levitt-Safety establishes its first overseas NLT location in Chile, and introduces its safety prescription eyewear division – Levitt RX.

1998 – The 'Ice Storm of the Century' hits Ontario and Quebec, throwing 150,000 people into darkness and freezing temperatures for weeks. Levitt-Safety receives awards from Government and Ontario Power Generation for working around the clock to supply critical safety products necessary to restore power.

1999 – Launches new logo and branding.
