Features and Benefits
PREVOR DIPHOTERINE®

Accidents from chemical splashes may cause burns; often with severe side-effects. A chemical burn is initiated by the contact between the aggressive product and the skin or eye. Following this contact, part of the aggressive chemical will penetrate into the tissue and cause destruction of the cells. Diphoterine® has been engineered to dramatically reduce the risk of injury for employee’s who handle hazardous and dangerous chemicals.
To effectively decontaminate the splash, it will be necessary, not only to decontaminate the product on the surface, but also to control its penetration inside the tissue. Diphoterine® is vastly superior to using typical water-based eye/face washes.

How Diphoterine® Works
Diphoterine® is a multi-purpose solution suitable for any kind of chemical injury*. Diphoterine® is an aqueous solution containing an absorbent which connects immediately with the chemical aggressor and then carries it away. Diphoterine® is a particularly rapid and effective absorbent. It attracts, neutralises and absorbs aggressive molecules, whether they are irritants or corrosives: this is something water cannot do. Water is hypotonic, making it apt to penetrate deeply; causing cellular swelling below the skin or membrane. Diphoterine® is particularly effective on splashes to the eyes as it is inherently hypertonic to tears allowing it restore the eye's physiological balance. It also prevents the aggressor from penetrating. Diphoterine® is neither toxic, nor irritant, nor corrosive.
* Except hydrofluoric acid and its derivatives. In this case it is necessary to use Hexafluorine®
The main benefits of Diphoterine®:
- Single use protocol for chemical burns – easy to use and no confusion regarding which product to use.
- Diphoterine® absorbs, neutralises and washes away the hazardous chemical – reducing the duration of contact with the chemical dramatically reduces the risk of injury.
- Increased Intervention time for treatment – increasing the intervention time for use of the product reduces the risk of injury.
- Hypertonic solution – aids in the absorption of the chemicals, and therefore reduces the risk of injury.
- Non–toxic and carry TGA approval – products are safe to use.
Diphoterine® has been used extensively in Europe for more than 10 years. Companies that are using the product have noticed a distinct decrease in absence due to illness caused by accidents with chemicals.
